Kim Davis - Salesperson/Designer

Kim joined our team in 2012 after working for another flooring store in

BC. You will love working with Kim as she is excellent in custom design

and decorating for both your home and office. She is a hard worker

who is dedicated to making sure you get exactly what you want. Kim

grew up in Nova Scotia with 8 siblings, and when she gets going, you

can certainly tell! Away from work, she enjoys quiet days at her cabin

on the lake (Martini in hand). Any decorating challenge you may have,

Kim will take it on with a smile.

Tom Perry - Salesperson/ Insurance Specialist

Tom has been an installer for Valley Floor & Home since 1997 and is now

making a transition to a Salesperson specializing in insurance work.

Tom knows our products and store inside and out. His eye for detail

will be great for insurance work and dealing with damaged flooring. No

one ever enjoys being in a situation where they need to use their

insurance. But Tom will be sure to take care of you, be thorough and

make sure everything is done the first time properly. Tom loves to stay

active. He and his family love to ski. When they aren’t skiing, you will

probably find them at the arena watching their son ref or playing old

timers hockey.

Sarah Galbraith - Salesperson

Sarah Galbraith is a valued member of the Valley Floor & Home Sales

Team. Sarah and her partner have recently finished renovating their

first home and are fresh with inspiration and ideas to help you with your

flooring needs. Sarah’s young energy and love for colours bring an

eclectic, boho vibe to our Sales team and with her extensive

background in the service and hospitality industry, you will be happy

you chose Sarah as your sales person for your next flooring purchase.

Nolan Thibedeau - Sales Manager 

Nolan joined our sales team in July 2023. But he has worked for

Valley Floor & Home Since 2020. Previously, our Warehouse manager, 

Nolan has just returned from a year of traveling in Australia, where

he continued to expand his Sales education, studying online with the

Carpet One University. He has become a valued member of our sales

team, working with our builders. He enjoys developing new relationships

with our existing builders and creating new relationships with new builders

and developers in the Cowichan Valley. Nolan was born and raised in

the Cowichan Valley. In his spare time, he is a proud volunteer with

Cowichan Valley Search and Rescue. 

Denise Gerard - Office & Admin Manager

Denise is a crucial member of our staff as she handles job costing,

accounts receivable and payable, customer service, receiving and

scheduling. To say she is a hard worker is an understatement. She has

been part of the Valley Floor & Home family since 2001. We say when it

comes to running Valley Floor & Home, “If Denise doesn’t know it, then

the rest of us are in trouble!” She is a dedicated cheerleader and

softball mom. When she gets some downtime, Denise likes to spend

her time boating and camping.

Brittney Barry - Designer 

Brittney holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and is passionate about creating detailed, thoughtfully planned spaces that blend beauty with everyday function. She believes great design should look stunning while working seamlessly for the people who live in it.

Born and raised in Alberta, Brittney moved to Vancouver Island to complete her education and quickly fell in love with the island lifestyle and creative community. She also serves as our Social Media Specialist, bringing her design eye to our online presence.

Chad Gurski - President, Valley Floor & Home

After owning a landscaping business, Chad bought Valley Floors in

1994 at the age of 22. The following year, he joined Carpet One. Chad

runs the show here, makes sure everything runs smoothly and that all

Valley Floor & Home customers are happy. He leads by example, and

employees feed off of his work ethic. Chad, or Groomer (the

nickname/name of his landscaping business), is a hockey dad through and through. He loves watching his kids play. When they get a break,

he enjoys golfing, RVing and hanging out by the pool.

Tammy Gurski - Vice President, Valley Floor & Home

Tammy joined Valley Floor & Home in 2000 after working as a

travel consultant. She brings energy, dedication and a people-

first approach to every aspect of her role. As Vice President,

Tammy supports the business across multiple areas, including

pricing, marketing, merchandising and accounts receivable. 

Both in the store and behind the scenes, she is committed to

ensuring that staff, customers, and operations are well taken care of.

Known for her high energy and hands-on involvement, she plays

a key role in supporting the strong culture and continued growth

of Valley Floor & Home.
